Pumped up, full of print and fun, the designers work is about loud statements and comic references that could make him a European streetwear favourite.Dazed Digital: Is it an honour for a younger designer to be approached to contribute work to the Arnhem Mode Biennale?Antoine Peters: It’s a big honour especially this year as this time round it’s far more international and there don’t seem to be too many Dutch designers included this year so it does feel special. DD: What have you contributed to the event?Antoine Peters: I designed the volunteer uniforms. The volunteers are the people helping host the event, showing guests around so it’s nice that every visitor will be able to see my work. My inspiration for the uniform was to look at something as simple as a tea dress and turn it into a vibrant, unisex type of uniform.DD: Describe your work to us, what’s its appeal?Antoine Peters: I always play with proportion. I like the idea of one size fitting all and I think unisex is really important. I want my designs to speak to everyone. I like my work to be funny too so I like to use insane prints, shapes and moulages. My work definitely has a pop feel to it’ Escape the algorithm!
