The designer and icon will join other industry experts for a talk series hosted by the British Fashion council – here’s how to get tickets
Considering the rising price of education, the chance to learn from some of the industry’s most respected professionals for free might seem almost too good to be true. However, that’s what the British Fashion Council is offering in the form of its London Fashion Week Talk Series. The talks will take place at Shaftesbury Avenue’s Century Club over the five-day course of London Fashion Week, offering insider advice to young creatives on how to succeed in the industry.
The events kick off tomorrow, beginning with Machine-A founder Stavros Karelis – the man responsible for stocking and supporting emerging designers such as Liam Hodges, Nasir Mazhar and Sibling from the very start of their careers – and super stylist Anna Trevelyan. Later on in the week, i-D founder Terry Jones will speak in conversation with GQ editor Dylan Jones, followed by SHOWStudio editor Lou Stoppard speaking with acclaimed photographer Sølve Sundsbø.
Supported by American Express, the series will conclude on Tuesday with a chat with icon, jewellery designer and wife to Rick Owens, Michèle Lamy. She will be sharing the stage with a designer that she and Owens took under their wing, London designer Gareth Pugh – one of the industry’s most feted design talents. Pugh’s avant-garde sensibilities and creative vision mixed with Lamy’s wisdom and dark eccentricity will surely make for an interesting conversation.
