The Frankfurt based ex-teacher famed for his vast body of work into the basic duplication of symbols into a large graphic display has produced 'Artist's Edition no.71'. Thomas Bayrle taught at the Stadelschule for 27 years originally trained as a weaver, his graphics have appeared in many guises, silkscreen printing, wallpapers, and has also made films and sculptures. commissioned by Clemens en August to add to their collection, the print on the shirt is a tonal cup and saucer repetitive print taken from 1968 entitled Tassen/Tassen.

The shirt is available to purchase alongside the Clemens en August full Spring Summer 09 range and can be found in the touring pop-up store, which returns to London on the 2nd April for three days. The Clemens tour spans 11 cities worldwide, covering most of the fashion hotspots and has no shortage of celebrity followers - James McAvoy, Rhys Ifans and Lily Cole to name a few. This season’s collection offers a delicate palette of pretty girlie pastel hues with a Grecian theme. And for the boys a hunting reference in blues, greys and red, keeping it altogether soft and summery with super wide leg trousers and subtle sporty details.
