Toyin, as expected, sheds a different kind of light on David David’s A/W 09 capsule womenswear collection whilst simultaneously retaining the energy of David Saunders’ prints that we know and love. For the new collection David took inspiration from a 1970s’ puzzle pattern and developed a print for familiar David David casual silhouettes, pieces, which interplay beautifully with the trio of ballerinas and their movements in the film. Toyin placed this trio in a disused church setting and with her carefully balanced tension between sexual charge and grace, the result is a very different perspective on David David.Click on the gallery for more stills taken by Toyin on the set of the film and see an extract of the film below.
