New York-based photographer and director takes Jordan Askill's jewellery collection on a symbolic journey in this film and stills.
Jordan Askill has been a friend and creative collaborator for several years. His work has always seemed somewhat autobiographical while maintaining a preoccupation with the fragility and innocence of youth.
The 'Crossing' project is my interpretation of our conversations regarding the personal and sometimes intimate mythology Jordan has created as the basis for his collection.
Both the photography and film represent a symbolic journey - a vision of the fragility of adolescence in the eternal presence of nature. 'Youth' becomes a mythic figure, floating above the 'eternity' of the oceans massive horizon - crossing the divide between the real and the imaginary.
