PUMA Central Saint Martins Bursary Award

Published 26 months ago

Tyson Beckford announced the winners of the award going to four winners at the CSM MA show with Katie Green Wood taking first prize.

The partnership between Puma Creative and Central Saint Martins continues for the third year running. This year however, the bursary award has been given a different slant with Puma temaing up with motorsport brand Ducati. Students were tasked to develop the ultimate performance 'Biker Jacket', a piece of clothing that in an odd turn of events has been largely stripped of any association with physical bikes due to its popularity in the fashion stakes.

As well as having their winning designs produced and sold in Puma Black stores in August, and sharing a prize money totalling £14,000, the students also get to translate their graphic collection onto three 'Monster' bikes donated by Ducati. These will be auctioned off in March with all proceeds going back into the CSM MA course.

The first prize went to Katie Green Wood who put a double layered spin on a grey jacket. Wayne Fitzell bagged second prize with a padded vest. Third prize was shared by Nicola Lewis's oversized v-neck hoodie jacket and Laura Mackness's quilted leather bolero. All prizes were presented and announced by Tyson Beckford at the end of the Central Saint Martins graduate fashion show during London Fashion Week.
