Both sharing a creative process that centres around the reinterpretation of historical forms, radical experimentation with constructions and an unconventional approach to materials, it is no wonder Maison Martin Margiela and MYKITA have found tranquillity through their creative unity.
Teaming together, they have created a stainless steel framed eyewear collection inspired by iconic optical shapes from the last century. Since first launching in 2009, Margiela’s eyewear range has grown and developed organically and for a fashion house that sits on the cross-section between fashion and design, this dynamic collaboration marks the next chapter. With monochrome frames and matching lenses, each piece of eyewear is streamlined, sleek and pure reflecting the synergies of both design houses.
To launch the collection Margiela and MYKITA have worked with directors Julien Soulier and Adrien Landre to create a video campaign, launched today exclusively on Dazed.
The sunglasses are available for pre-order at all Maison Martin Margiela boutiques and via mykita.com.
Directed by: Julien Soulier and Adrien Landre.
