All good things eventually come to an end, and after three successful seasons spent mixing high fashion with technical functionality, Raf Simons and Eastpak are collaborating together for the last time. The final range for SS 09 includes oversized, slouchy, futuristic style backpacks designed for the fashion conscious traveller. Combining denim, leather and metallic silver panelling, the backpacks and overnight bags will be produced in limited numbers, and in true Eastpak style will be affordable and thus accessible to fans of both labels.

Perhaps in tribute to the partnership, the collection seems to mark a collision between the past and the future, as traditional elements and practicality are fused with the sleek promise and decadence of a fantasy future. Based on a foundation of blues and creams, the collection has a distinct masculine edge, but has enough elegant ambiguity to make it desirable for both sexes.
