Driven by the motif of a smiling face with bulging eyes and creepily protruding teeth, Walter Van Beirendonck’s A/W 09 collection was a fluro fusion at Paris Menswear Fashion Week. Beirendonck’s collection was brave to say the least, as boldly coloured tubing created balloon like creatures that wrapped around models bodies in the form of the menacing totem face, avant-garde hats and skeletally inspired vests. These imaginative pieces were layered over equally daringly coloured jumpsuits before moving into more wearable high collared coats and low cut knits.
