After Jil Sander’s bold neon experiments earlier that day, it was Donatella’s turn to infuse her collection with fluorescents – but unlike Sander’s offerings of control and restraint, this season Versace was all about excess.
Neon sports tape was worn on the body as if a new tattoo, something that also appeared as details on garments. Splattered paint prints covered full suits and Versace iconography had been reworked into Zebra prints. The show space was covered with an explosion of neon stripes, something that allowed her more minimal looks to transcend into the hypnotic realm of Versace.
