Over the course of the past five days, abrasive design talents Meadham Kirchhoff have curated daily content for Dazed Digital. Beginning with a Courtney Love-heavy playlist reminding us how seminal The Word was, how brilliant Michael Clark is and the surreal time Leigh Bowery was interrogated by a rubber alien on ITV (the culmination of an anarchic era in chat shows).
We've been recommended the UK rebirth of Oz Magazine, illusive Meyercord cutie decals, Beth Siveyer's Girls Get Busy zine and shown the attraction of opposites, with the designers choosing arch purist Lee Roach as a rising talent.
Ready for weekend manoeuvres, Meadham Kirchhoff close their takeover residency by selecting five favourite looks from the duo's collection archive, with comment by Edward Meadham. Thank you Ben and Ed, it's been a blast. Stay tuned to Dazed Digital for our next guest editor, revealed on Monday.
LOOK 1 MEADHAM KIRCHHOFF A/W10
"A Rebours is still my favourite collection. I love this look, I love the colours and it has all of the important elements from that collection: the veil, the painted biker jacket, the florals..."
LOOK 2 MEADHAM KIRCHHOFF A/W10
"This another one from A Rebours. Courtney [Love] left with this dress when she came over to see us just after that show, it was my favourite one from that collection. So I never really got to see that dress much."
LOOK 3 MEADHAM KIRCHHOFF S/S11
"This is a version of a dress I had wanted to make for years. My friend Sharna got married in this dress, it is still my favourite dress."
LOOK 4 MEADHAM KIRCHHOFF S/S12
"This is 'Madonna' from A Wolf in Lamb's Clothing! I am quite proud of this."
LOOK 5 MEADHAM KIRCHHOFF S/S10
"The glitter t-shirts from My Knives are like a Tongue, I Love You I Hate You. They were so good. Everybody always thinks of A Rebours as 'the change' in MK, but for me these things were where it all really started."
