Elie Saab is known for his adept hand at turning out a killer gown. This season he maintained that signature whilst moving the label forward in a fresh direction. Dazed's Fashion Director Karen Langley was impressed...
"The collection was a really beautiful one, focused on gowns. I loved the first section that was all black – that's not what you necessarily associate with Elie Saab, you think of nude and wedding dresses (which did appear and got everyone going too). To open with Karlie Kloss in a delicate black number was a bold statement that didn't go unnoticed. With the black you almost noticed the incredible handiwork even more, it was really powerful.
The beauty was very classic, focusing on amazing skin. Hair had the foundations of a classic hairdo but with a modern edge, a classic plait on the side that was braided instead of twisted. It lended itself to the contemporary couture buyer without going too off-piste – very astute and another great mark of sensitive progression in this collection."
