We caught up with the girls to talk more about their experience and recurring influence on fashion. I like the rush I feel during fashion week, although it's exhausting. But that is part of the experience . When I walk down the catwalk I listen to the powerful music and feel lead by it, though I do think about where to walk or turn Dutch model Querelle Jansen appears in Louis The Great by Kacper Kasprzyk and Robbie Spencer, a trip through the archives of Louis Vuitton's ready-to-wear, established at the house in 1997 – and still imagined – by Marc Jacobs. She has walked in shows for the likes of Roberto Cavalli, Missoni, Miu Miu, Valentino, Prada, Balenciaga, Jean Paul Gaultier, Lanvin, Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang and many more.Dazed Digital: Do you remember your first show? Were you nervous?Querelle Jansen: My first show was Miu Miu and I was very excited at the time as I didn't know what to expect. Just before the show started I found out I was opening, so when the music for began I got very nervous. It felt like a dream come true and also happened so quickly. It was really great!DD: What shows did you enjoy walking for A/W12 and what runs through your mind when you're walking down a catwalk?Querelle Jansen: I like the rush I feel during fashion week, although it's exhausting. But that is part of the experience . And I like being a part of big production shows, like the 10th anniversary show of [Alber Elbaz at] Lanvin in Paris, I felt so happy and excited. When I walk down the catwalk I listen to the powerful music and feel lead by it, though I do think about where to walk or turn.DD: What's the secret of your enduring appeal?Querelle Jansen: First of all I have a really good team of agents around me. For me it's important to stay grounded and happy with who I am so that if I do a job I try to do it well. My mother agent supports me very strongly and takes care of my well-being, not only about business. She does both. Having a good home where I can always fall back on my family and boyfriend helps me with giving something from myself as model.DD: Are you a mentor figure to any of the newer girls?Querelle Jansen: I would be honored to be a mentor to newer girls. I actually discussed that while my mother agent was in Paris – I would love to help with building new girls since I have lots of experience and it'd be nice if I could teach anything to the new faces.DD: Tell us something we wouldn't expect of you...Querelle Jansen: Beside my modelling carreer I have another passion, I love helping people. I studied social work. Escape the algorithm! Get The DropEmail address SIGN UP Get must-see stories direct to your inbox every weekday. Privacy policy Thank you.
