Christian Wijnants S/S 09

Published 29 months ago

Wijnants distorts landscapes into pointillist prints.

Whilst the man made world is busy going to pieces, it seems like an apt time for designers to escape and Christian Wijnants is no exception. The Antwerp-based designer looked at landscapes and disorted them so that they made way for the prints that would go on his dresses for S/S 09. Night and day scenes can just about be made out from the pointillist prints. There's a very organic feeling about this collection which Wijnants admits was easier for him as he personally prefers spring summer. It's the season when his easy jersey pieces and soft tailoring really come into their own. Knitwear has been treated with a bleach to make an seeping tie dye effect in black and white.
