Robbie Spencer is Senior Fashion Editor at Dazed & Confused. This season, he kicked off the New York shows by styling Richard Chai, before putting together the menswear at McQ's brilliant London show – already a highlight of the season. Spencer works on editorial, catwalks and campaigns internationally. 

Dazed Digital: What did you see today?
Robbie Spencer: Today's highlights were Fendi and of course Prada! Fendi was really amazing, one of their strongest collections of late. I loved the Native American braided hair, the collection had a real Cherokee feel, and the multi-layered furs almost felt like armour but in a couture way. My favourite look was the fur dress, it looked like a wild deer, moulded and turned upside-down so the longer hair framed the neck and back – very simialr to the way fur was used by Native Americans in their ceremonial outfits.

DD: And Prada?
Robbie Spencer: Prada was incredible as usual, every Prada show is an amazing experience. I loved the sharp, masculine tailoring in graphic 1970s inspired prints, safari suits and smocks. And the layering of calf-length skirts over trousers, the combination of jewel embellishment over graphic prints in bold colours. Some of the looks had almost a martial arts feel.

The hair was really incredible. Two-tone manes combed-back, some were blonde to jet black others brown to rusty red, and very black eyemake up with white highlights. As usual there were lots of brand new girls such as Elza and Lula at IMG. And our March covergirl Lara Mullen also made an appearance.

DD: There's always frantic analysis of the invite Prada send out before the show, as people try to pre-empt what the collection's going to look like...
Robbie Spencer: This season it was a rich purple colour which seems to be a bit of a trend so far! It represented the huge carpet within the space, an idea seen in the men's show last month. Prada don't often relate their collections to each other – last season the space looked very different.

DD: What are you up to tonight?
Robbie Spencer: We finish quite late, after the Valentino store opening and Vogue Italia Talent corner event, I will have dinner with Agata from Another and Chloe from Garage magazine.

DD: What are you looking forward to tomorrow?
Robbie Spencer: Just Cavalli and Versace, which is always a great show. Donatella is really on form at the moment...
