An organza knee-length skirt, a snakeskin bodice and a label-free silk blazer, in lime, olive and pine: Armani Privé’s show was themed around metamorphosis, which he presented as a study of nature and nurture, constructed and organic – and with plenty of glitter. This evolved into a similar mix of gold, aqua and reptilian prints, and navy – all with a recurring theme of pleats and shimmer.

Skirts morphed into tapered trousers, necklines plunged down to the belly button. Evening wear consisted of sleeveless black blouses worn with ankle-long skirts with ample pockets; cocktail dresses were body conscious and asymmetrical; ball gowns offered a hybrid between a black Swarovski embroidered bustier and draped, floor length snakeskin. As for the finale, it unveiled voluminous strapless organza dresses in a dark, serpent pattern – fit for a somber bride or a very wild night out.
