Over 600 people congregated at the Royal Horticultural Halls for the launch of the exciting hunt, before setting out across London to win exclusive prizes. Players were guided around a series of locations via the SCVNGR app, as the first time this technology has been used for an outdoor treasure hunt in the UK. They were asked to complete set challenges curated by a creative panel put together by Dazed & Confused and Swarovski. Creative ambassadors including Turner Prize nominee Mark Titchner, Alexis Taylor (of Hot Chip), Mary Katrantzou, Joe Dunthorne (writer, Submarine) and Guerilla Science selected some of their best-hidden gems of the city, including the Paul Smith Gallery, Phonica Records and Dover Street Market as some of the treasure hunt’s 40 locations. Prizes included iconic pieces from Swarovski’s Nirvana Rings, Atelier Swarovski and Swarovski Crystallized, bottles of Aura by Swarovski fragrance, whilst the Grand Prize was an all expenses paid trip to Florence - including an overnight stop-over in Swarovski’s home of Austria for a private tour of Crystal World, before a 5-night stay in 5* Hotel Home in Florence with a Vespa tour of the Chianti region and £1,000 spending money. The overall winners, Helen Oakley and Simon Lindsell, took over two hours to complete a total of 38 out of a possible 42 of challenges to take home the grand prize - before the day ended with exclusive sets from Hot Chip's DJ Alexis Taylor and Filthy Dukes.
