In a similar game of layering, hoodies were worn round the waist under a men’s blazer, complete with distressed cropped denim shorts and the same boots in a pseudo-mud print. A few dresses were on show, such as a mini knitted one (arguably an oversized jumper), worn with a loose brown belt, or as sheer, leopard-print number with a frontal split up to the crotch. As for the American flag, floating at the back of the runway, it was a recurring pattern on clothes too: on chiffon, flowy one-shoulder top, trikinis, and army-inspired caps. Men too joined in, wearing studded leather waistcoat and borsalino hats. Headpieces bloomed on girls’ heads’ too: heads bands, wide hats, or neon-framed sunglasses worn on the head completed the cheerful, brimming show. Escape the algorithm!
