The show kicked off with a plunging square neck and back, declined in baby pink with flounces, or in pastel blue with a slip underneath. Flowery, pink dresses then entered the show, some embroided in lurex threads, paired with plastic, round earrings. Skirts and tops were also a recurrent item: one notable look consisted of a leather skirt in brown and beige palette, worn with a stripy jumper with a simple cotton back. There was also subtle play on the waist, cinched in the back and loose in the front, creating a hybrid between a cocktail dress and a babydoll cut – Castiglioni’s philosophy in a nutshell. Ten key items from the new Marni S/S12 Collection are available for pre-ordering between now and 16th of October on Marni.com. Escape the algorithm!
