The multi-dimensional S/S'12 Calvin Klein Collection for menswear was a union of colour and proportion with each piece inspired by the ease and functionality of classic American sportswear. Contrasted proportions seen in the high volume sports trousers and elongated shorts were matched with iconic bomber jackets and waxed jerseys. Texture was another strong feature from the label, with finishes either ultra shiny or ultra matte, using modern fabrics which created a clean and ultra hi-tech look. Classic American fabrics such as leather and jersey were given an instant twist by being treated using various techniques, seen on the bonded leathers and waxed denims. The two button blazer formed with precision laser cut rubber tiles graphically bonded onto mesh was a striking example of how successful fabrication choices elevate great design. Colors remained vivid and summery. Fresh, cool shades of white with streaks of citronelle yellow and cerulean blue contrasted with the dark greys and black, with the occasional classic monochrome pairing of black and white.
