Using his enigmatic Xerox and colour-wash paste-up technique, an image of a giant Shire horse moving slowly forward whilst carrying a young boy on its back is displayed on a sidewall of the building. The image of the boy (Donk's son) represents the lone Londoner with the Shire horse symbolising the city of London. The work explores aspects of time, transience and growing up in London. Donk is placing his work all around the East End and on derelict sites in and around Southwark, Borough Market, Bermondsey, Kings Cross and Euston as he feels the work gains something from its inherently historical surrounding. The project developed as something to follow the Biannual Book created by the Scandinavian fashion label, J.Lindeberg wanted to use the space as a platform for a range of artists to promote their craft. The wall has previously been used by various street artists and there are hopes to turn it into a 'canvas' for different creatives that can be changed every few months. Escape the algorithm!
