Make sure you pick up Portable Grindhouse: The Lost Art of the VHS Box as soon as you can. Packaged like an old VHS tape, trash cinema auteur Jacques Boyreau has compiled his favoruite cover art from such legendary movies as 1990: Bronx Warriors, From Beyond, Penitentiary II, Beast of the Yellow Night, Cop Killers, Bay of Blood, Escape from Death Row, and Cocaine Wars. Published by Fantagraphics Books, my favourite spread from this awesome nostalgia trip was The Lift (1985), tag line: There's something very wrong with the elevator. The passengers never end up on the floor of their choice. They end up dead! Take the stairs! For God’s sake, TAKE THE STAIRS!!!
