After winning Shooting People's Film of the Month with his 'Pockets' (shot for Channel 4 a couple of years ago), virals and shorts director James Lees was contacted by Amnesty International to capture similar personal stories for the launch of their Write for Rights campaign. Directed by Kat Mansoor (Hobo Films), edited by Chris McKay and exec produced by James, the resulting video is, as he would put it, "a love letter to letters", an adaptation of 'Pockets' where real people talk about letters they have received and sent and that have marked them in a way or another.
Watch it HERE, then grab a pen, write for human rights and join Amnesty's members who, in the past 50 years and through the power of the written word, have already helped thousands of prisoners of conscience claim their freedom.
