The iconic fashion and art museum instigated the project in order to help and advance creative careers within related industries. The evening will involve a platform for networking, practical careers advice and information through the leading creative graduate website's event which bridges the gap between education and industry. Arts Thread will showcase work to the global creative industry, help create online portfolios, and offer practical advice on career development before and after university. As such, it will be a welcome aid in those starting their own businesses, going freelance or job-hunting, and will be given the chance to speak to industry experts from across the field. Postgraduate students at the Royal College of Art will also be in attendance to give advice and exhibiting some of their latest work. Speakers will include: Paul Crofts, Owner of Paul Crofts Studio, a London-based multi-disciplinary product design studio, John Cunningham, VP Technology Europe at digital marketing experts Razorfish, label owner Louis de Gama, Sally Leonard, owner of high-end jewellery label Leonard of London, Olaf Parker, consultant for BBC Blast, Jane Richardson, Business Development Print/Digital Director, and Joyce Thornton, Design journalist & education expert, creator of WGSN's New Gen student portal. The evening will also delve into the Royal College of Art postgraduate Master's students' latest projects, the College and student work. Courses represented include: Animation, Architecture, Ceramics & Glass, Design Interactions, Design Products, Fashion Menswear, Fashion Womenswear, Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, Metalwork & Jewellery, Innovation Design Engineering, Textiles and Vehicle Design.
