For the next two months, Jasper Joffe will be covering The Dazed Gallery from floor to ceiling in paintings that explore notions of cultural identity – psychotic faux-naive works that induce revulsion and horror in their brave and unflinching investigations into the cultural mores of British society. Here, filthy beaches covered in faeces are presented in thick, child-like daubs, grotesque moneyed young tories grimace from scenes heavy with social decay, and polymorphous sex creatures (reminiscent of Burroughs's fictional Mugwumps) explore every possible orifice. The show is all part of the Vote Jasper Joffe campaign, which asks people to vote for the artist in the coming general election and put him in the driver's seat in the House of Commons. The exhibition will include a live painting performance from the artist on the opening night and also play host to lightbox work from Robert Montgomery, and a short film entitled Coyote by the artist Sean Flynn. Throughout the exhibition visitors will be invited to shoot life-size effigies of President Bush and the PM Tony Blair as part of "Cowboys" – an interactive piece presented by the artist Anthony Ditchfield. Expect the bullets to fly...

The exhibition runs from May 5. For more information contact johnpaul@confused.co.uk
