Tempting the art moguls eastwards from Regents Park this weekend, Frieze art fair’s younger contender Zoo 2009 is set to swamp Shoreditch with the cream of new contemporary art. Over four days, an array of international art galleries, art collectives, curatorial groups and project spaces will be showing their most exciting wares to the curators, collectors, critics and art enthusiasts at the forefront of the emerging art scene. So, if you're looking to be the next Charles Saatchi, want to buff-up your cultural credentials or just feel like taking in some art, then we suggest you get down there.

Central to the fair are four exhibitions curated by organisations that Zoo 2009 have selected, all of which celebrate their crucial role in progressing and inspiring new direction in contemporary art practice. London’s own collaborative, supportive art spaces FormContent and Studio Voltaire have both been chosen to exhibit, alongside international moving image and video arts agency LUX, and leading contemporary arts curator Robert Tufnell.

However, your attention will be fought for. Over 100 artists are exhibiting on stands and booths curated by London and LA’s Crisp gallery, Berlin’s Marbel López Gallery and the David Risley Gallery, to name but a significant few. Individual works by 14 of the most compelling new names in art (look out for Ichiro Endo, Maciej Kurak, Bettina Buck and Anna Tanner) will make up Zoo 2009’s solo shows. This will also be an opportunity to see solo exhibitions from last year’s award winners Scoli Acosta and the brilliant, visceral collagist Clunie Reid.

Touted as an 'introduction to the next generation of art professionals', by the end of this weekend, we’ll all be (exhausted) experts.

Zoo 2009 runs from October 16 – 19
