Miley Cyrus just sold a Caitlyn Jenner artwork for $69,000

She auctioned the artwork at the amfAR Inspiration gala, to raise money for HIV and AIDs

Miley Cyrus has been killing it recently, starting up a Happy Hippie foundation for disadvantaged LGBT youths, campaigning for trans and gender fluid visibility with her Instagram, and most recently taking an agender date to a gala for HIV and AIDs research and auctioning off some Caitlyn Jenner artwork to help the Foundation. She raised a massive $69,000 (around £43,400).

Cyrus was honoured at the gala for being an inspiration for repping the LGBT community, wearing a custom heart-print Moschino gown and patterned Dr Martens boots to match. She said “As a little girl, it was not a dream of mine to be the face of a lipstick, but it was a dream of mine to change the world".

Her artwork, featuring embellished prints of Caitlyn Jenner, who recently came out to the world on the front cover of Vanity Fair, could help do that. amfAR is trying to raise $100 million by 2020 in order to fund innovative research, which could hopefully cure AIDs.

She was able to raise some money for this important charity, and have a good time with fellow stars Laverne Cox, Andreja Pejic and Marc Jacobs. She even managed to get a selfie with Laverne Cox, which you can see on her Instagram.

Cyrus managed to get another couple of grand on the auction price by promising to clean the winning bidder's house naked. You can see the $69,000 images below. This isn't the first time she's made art; she launched a career as a visual artist 6 months ago, and art curator Jeffrey Deitch described her as ‘the real deal’.
