To hell and back on Dazed Digital

The Dark Arts season of ghoulish features, campfire tales and soulless selfies begins

Techno Horror

In the lead-up to Halloween, Dazed Digital is running a Dark Arts season inspired by our November Dark Arts issue. Among other things, we've walked the path of darkness via the Hollywood Walk of Death and talked to Don Mancini, the creator of Chucky. Check back on our Dark Arts section for a journey to hell and back.

As the nights draw in and the wind starts to bellow, thoughts turn to all hallow's eve. Leading up to the night of the 31st October we'll be running a season inspired by the print magazine's Dark Arts theme and the rich vein of super, super weird stuff that the modern world throws up.

We're treating you to guides to the 50 best cult horror movies, broken up by major trope, from techno fear to hospital horrors. A series of long-read features on today's true terrors. The recent fashion shows reimagined as the nastiest pulp comics. Horror mixes running up to Halloween. And nightly bed-time stories taken from the scariest corners of Reddit. Follow the hub page dazeddigital.com/dark-arts for every story.

We're also showing you a few tricks. Inspired by our horror theme rundowns, we've commissioned illustrator Tyler Spangler to draw up some selfie overlayers so you can shoot and share yourself as nasty nurse or a ghost in the machine – head here to take part. And, because we think you guys probably have some seriously weird stories up your sleeves, we're asking you to tweet us your scariest campfire tales to win a copy of new issue, signed by the coverstar Chloe Moretz.

Don't call it a takeover. Call it a possession
