Cult brand Kidrobot will launch their new Ye Old English Dunny series by taking over Selfridges Concept Store and turning it into a “Kidrobot universe” complete with a store gallery and shop showcasing the brands toys, tees, hoodies and a collection of original print bags. Those who missed out on Kidrobot and Tarina Tarantino’s exclusive collaborative line of accessories will have a chance to grab some pieces, as well as reclining on Frank Kozik’s Labbit stools whilst ogling some Selfridges trademark window displays featuring the characters.
The exhibition will run from January 22nd to February 21st, and to kick it off a party will be thrown with VIP guests consisting of the 17 top British artists, including ilovedust, Clutter, Triclops, Jon Burgerman and TADO, who have designed their own take on the classic Dunny. There’ll also be a surprise artist to decorate a giant Dunny throughout the night. Over the course of the exhibition an exclusive version of the 16th edition Kiderobot figure will be released with a limited run of 300 produced, along with the unveiling of Frank Kozik’s 1984 Smorkin’ Labbit ten inch vinyl piece.
Founded in 2002 by designer Paul Budnitz, Kidrobot has become a premier designer and retailer of limited edition toys and clothes and often collaborates with some of the world’s most high profile artists.
The Kidrobot x Selfridges Store-gallery will be located at 400 Oxford Street and will operate from January 22 through February 21.
