20/20 Visions: Shriya Samavai

The NYC serial snapper on the exciting prospects an American youth can hold

Shriya Samavai 2

Samavai sees only positives about being 20 in America. “People take you more seriously because you’re no longer a teenager,” she smiles, “and you only have to use your fake ID for one more year!” But being underage hasn’t stopped the Indiana native from making a mark with the spontaneous documentation of Manhattan on her colourful blog Cote-Armour, which also showcases the branded sweaters she makes. “It’s a place for us to showcase our creations and support work by our artist and musician friends,” she says. With a creative yet entrepreneurial outlook, Samavai is turning her aspirations into concrete goals. “What excites me about the future? The insane number of opportunities waiting for me!”
