"Woman as icon, empowered and resolved. Her body as sculpture, celebrated for its surface, respected for its power. Femininity exulted", a quote taken from the centre fold of Stefano Pilati's third manifesto which goes some way to explaining his reasons for choosing Naomi Campbell as his model of choice to front Yves Saint Laurent's A/W 08-9 campaign. For the third season, the YSL Manifesto will again take to the streets with over half a million copies being distributed on September 6th in Paris, London, New York, Milan, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
This time round, the manifesto will be held in a limited edition cotton tote bag available in black or white and the first 5,000 passersby in each city will get one. Simultaneously a short behind-the-scene film about the AW08-9 campaign shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin will premiere on YSL.com.
Drop by to any of these locations on Saturday for a chance of grabbing the tote along with the manifesto.
