Taking inspiration from having grown up on Ipanema beach in Rio de Janeiro, the design-school graduated photographer Vava Ribeiro has taken a range of Ipanema beach boys for his upcoming book. Having studied photography in New York, he focused on contemporary styles and fashion portraiture, and has contributed to Dazed & Confused, Vogue, and New York Times Magazine. He went on to win the jury's special award at the 'Festival des Arts de la Mode' in Hyeres, France and was selected by PDN Magazine as one of the top 30 photographers of his generation.

He is currently working on his new book 'Hold Your Breath' compiling of Fake memoirs from Hawaii playing with light and shadows in lush scenery.
