Scepticism has plagued Victoria Beckham
ever since she even uttered the words "fashion label launch". The joke
has dimmed a little since, quite literally, her first collection of
well-cut, tailored-based dresses have flown out of the shop doors
leaving nothing but a tumbleweed of luxurious silk and cashmere
strands. The film accompanying the first collection with its charming
hide-and-seek in the country house storyline only served to surprise
people with the label's identity and character. Themes of youthful
disdain and playfulness continue in Victoria Beckham's second film for
her A/W 09 collection which DazedDigital are previewing here. Directed
by Mat Jerrett and produced by 19 Entertainment,
"Swings" features eight models wearing slimline dresses from the A/W 09
collection (11-26 as each dress is numbered). Filmed on a London
street, morning noise increases in volume as the models move in unison
from swings suspended from porticos and a bus stop, with Beckham
herself making an even smaller appearance than she did in the last
film, perhaps to deliberately highlight her collection as opposed to
herself.
