Since its opening last summer, The Convenience Store has been busying itself with various projects that include a newspaper distributed during London Fashion Week. Now they have decided to fly out from their West London Hazelwood Towers location to somewhere rather more centralised. For three weeks starting from today, The Convenience Store will be setting up camp in the front room of St Martins Lane hotel where pieces such as Gareth Pugh's S/S 09 ventilated armour piece, Rick Owens backless jumpsuit and Ann Sofie Back's goat suede fringed dress will be wire hung. “The Convenience Store was designed using fluid ideas, an interior that moves, fittings that are barely there. To continue its development we wanted the shop to physically move out of the local environment. Like a city dweller, it should be able to take time out! Where better than one of London's premier contemporary design hotels? The St Martins Lane customer is modern, intelligent, design led, daring and brave. It's a marriage of dynamic convenience," explains Andrew Ibi, the store founder, on making The Convenience Store doubly more convenient location wise.

The selective buying process that Ibi has been pracitising at The Convenience Store means that the pieces are not merely run-of-the-mill, off-the-rack stock and rather have been especially chosen for their unconventionality that is sure to raise a few eyebrows from the clientele at St Martins Lane Hotel passing through the front room.

The Convienience Store at the Front Room of St Martins Lane Hotel, 45 St Martins Lane, London WC2N 4HX opens from 19th March to 9th April.
