You don’t need to be a Jodie Foster fan to appreciate Peter Jensen’s collection. It might however make a lot more sense when you hear how fanatical Jensen is about the broad-ranged American actress; “I think she’s incredibly beautiful. She’s one of those women who has stayed beautiful. You go and see a film with her in it, because it’s a good film and not because Jodie Foster is in it.” Specifically, Freaky Friday, The Hotel New Hampshire, The Accused and Silence of the Lambs were the four that Jensen and his team focused on for this season and had to watch repeatedly to get into the right frame of mind. The overriding theme was the transformation seen in The Hotel New Hampshire where Foster develops from a tomboy to an elegant woman and so red and white stripy t-shirt dresses quickly upgrade to floral tea dresses and silky and sophisticated affairs complete with headscarves. The menswear on show also compliemented the different Jodie Foster incarnations with relaxed and preppy ensembles.
