The result would be all participants’ work to be integrated into the finale of the project: a live event held in Manchester's Castlefield Arena climaxing in a special collaboration between United Visual Artists and Massive Attack . Contributors could see their work featured on anything from a t-shirt to a stage backdrop. The events took place in Manchester's Castlefield Arena during the first week of September 2009 and alongside an exhibition celebrating art and music. The sequence of events, based on the 'Fusion's' concept, saw artists and musicians fusing creatively in all forms to produce unique pieces of work that are showcased to a live audience. Through the sentiment of the ‘collective individual’, Beck's Fusions facilitated and enabled the biggest ever arts and music project in the UK. Individuality is expressed through art and music and through what we create, or what we appreciate means a number of individuals can still belong to the same group or share a common thread... hence ‘collectively individual’. Three winners had their work featured at the Beck's Fusion event in September as well as a pair of VIP tickets to see United Visual Arts and Massive Attack. Escape the algorithm!
