Hmmm... where to start? Difficult to describe this one, so I'll ease you into it. Picture first (with the aid of visual stimulus on the left) the baroque splendour of the Great Hall at St Bartholomew's Hospital in Farringdon. Now add a large robot arm whose eye is a camera and a violinist covered in sensors. Nearby place two dancers, one flesh-and-blood, the other virtual. Take the sound from the violin and transmute it into an orchestra of digital effects. Now have the violinist and the virtual dancer interact, the actions of the real influencing and reacting to the virtual. At the same time, watch the human dancer bend and stretch around the robot arm, as it copies and compliments her movements, all of which sets the virtual dancer off on pre-choreographed routines inspiring the violinist to re-double her creativity and drive the music ever onwards, all the while watching the duet/trio/quartet, multi-reality meltdown through the unblinking eye of the robot's camera, projected above the maelstrom to bring you into the piece itself. It will be beautiful.
