Diesel's Brave New World competition ended on Tuesday, leaving our judges with nearly a thousand photos and illustrations to look through. After two long nights, they've now produced a shortlist of eight. Although a huge proportion of entries invoked either tyranny or pollution in their interpretation of the "visions of the future" brief, neither of those themes found their way into this shortlist. Instead, this is a more abstract, optimistic selection, with an emphasis on one of the other popular subjects: children.
